Current Municipal Burning Restrictions
During times of high fire danger, the Office of the Fire Commissioner (OFC) encourages all municipalities to inform the OFC immediately at firecomm@gov.mb.ca when implementing or changing the status of municipal burning restrictions.
The OFC asks municipalities and Fire Chiefs for the following information when a change has occurred:
- Name of Municipality
- Description/Details
- Mutual Aid District
- Contact for more Information
- Contact number
Municipal Burning Permit and Restriction By-laws
Rural municipalities must have by-laws in place to enact burning restrictions for their areas.

Is there a burn ban in your municipality?
To learn about possible burning restrictions in effect, click on the magnifying glass on the left-hand toolbar of the map below, and click on the drop-down arrow to bring up a list of municipalities. Choose the municipality you are interested in and click "Apply". Click on the arrow to see more information on burning restrictions in that municipality as well as contact information should you have further questions.

Provincial Fire and Travel Restrictions
During the wildfire season there may be times when high to extreme fire danger conditions require the Manitoba government to implement fire and travel restrictions within the province.
