The Department of Mental Health and Community Wellness provides strategic direction and funding to mental health and addictions, and wellness programs. The following is some of the support provided by the department.
National Overdose Response Service
Please don't use substances alone! National Overdose Response Service (NORS) has live peers available to spot and help keep you safe.
Naloxone
Free take-home naloxone kits are available to members of the public who are at risk of opioid overdose (toxicity), and family or friends who may witness opioid toxicity.
Smoking and Vaping Control and Cessation
MHCW leads smoking and vaping reduction efforts and improve the quality of life for Manitobans by supporting key initiatives and Smoking Laws and Enforcement in Manitoba

Selkirk Mental Health Centre
Selkirk Mental Health Centre (SMHC) is a 252-bed facility that provides specialized inpatient mental health and acquired brain injury treatment and rehabilitation services to residents of Manitoba whose challenging needs cannot be met elsewhere in the provincial health care system.
Healthy Schools
Healthy Schools is Manitoba's school health initiative designed to promote the physical, emotional and social health of school communities.
