Budget 2018 puts Manitoba's economy on the road to recovery and provides a solid plan for making Manitoba the most improved province in Canada.
We're investing in priorities that support consistent, reliable health-care services across Manitoba including:
- investing the highest level of financial support ever for Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living at $6.2 billion including $3.89 billion for front-line care provided by the regional health authorities;
- investing an additional $14 million for the Home Cancer Drug Program;
- reducing ambulance fees to $340 from $425;
- creating 60 full-time paramedic positions in communities across Manitoba;
- increasing funding for renal dialysis by $7.7 million to expand access to care for people with end-stage kidney disease;
- enhancing the Manitoba Newborn Screening Program with an increased investment of $421,000 to Cadham Provincial Laboratory; and
- spending more than $10.4 million on nine projects including:
- Selkirk Hospital,
- Holy Family Personal Care Home,
- Flin Flon ER redevelopment,
- Brandon Hospital bed expansion,
- Diagnostic Imaging Building at Health Sciences Centre,
- Ste. Rose du Lac Primary Health Care Centre,
- Women's Hospital,
- Dauphin Emergency Department redevelopment, and
- a primary care information system.
