Manitoba committed to building 20 new schools over 10 years. Fourteen of these schools are completed, under construction, or in design. The province is working with the relevant school divisions to build the remaining six schools, plus an additional three schools. The nine schools will be delivered as a single project through a bundled approach that will provide optimal value and allow all of the new schools to be operational in 2027 - two years ahead of schedule.
The province is utilizing a Public-Private Partnership (P3) procurement model to deliver modern learning spaces for Manitoban students, creating additional student capacity to address enrolment pressures and accommodating population growth and expanding residential developments. Using a P3 model, the province is able to build all nine schools faster, control costs, and ensure the schools open earlier than originally projected.
