About Us
The mission of the Public Guardian and Trustee is to protect the interests of Manitobans by providing professional and cost-effective trustee services of last resort that meet the needs of our clients.
The Public Guardian and Trustee is a Special Operating Agency of the provincial government. This means the agency meets its operating and salary expenses through the fees it charges.
The Public Guardian and Trustee is accountable to the Manitoba Minister of Labour, Consumer Protection and Government Services and the provincial Treasury Board for operations and financial performance. The Public Guardian and Trustee Act states the Provincial Auditor must audit the agency's accounts and books. It also states The Public Guardian and Trustee must file an annual report.
