3. Greater Pension Benefits Security
The new legislation will bring better security to pension benefits now and in the future.
Required under the new legislation:
- Employers using a plan surplus to reduce contributions under defined benefit pension plans have to keep the plan's surplus at five per cent of the plan's liabilities.
