Energy and Environment
Canada's sustainable powerhouse
A leader in green energy and sustainable practices
Our province has a diverse range of more than 2,200 Manitoba businesses engaged in environmental consulting, remediation, recycling, waste, water/wastewater management and energy production. These operations are supported by compelling policies and programs created to help companies meet greenhouse gas reduction targets.
Over 99 per cent of electricity generated in our province comes from reliable, clean renewable resources including wind farms, solar and hydroelectric dams. This has made Manitoba's electricity system one of the cleanest and greenest in the world. It's available province-wide at some of North America's lowest published electricity rates.
